ROCK'N'ROLL BAND

 THE BAND HISTORY

In the long, hot summer of 1977, deep in the depths of mean Northamptonshire, the seeds of rebellion were slowly fermenting. Five angry young men were finding the shangalanging, flared 1970s music scene, a bewildering and uninviting place. They longed for a music and sense of style that could only be provided by a previous era...the rockin' rollin' 1950s. The Ghostriders band was born.

The band gigged around the area for only 12 short months, but in that time, played a considerable part in changing the Midlands music scene forever. The original band reformed in 1996, and a couple of later musician changes led to the present lineup in 2000 and looks set to continue for another 25 years. Throughout all this time, The Ghostriders' trademark has always been to provide good, solid 50's rock'n'roll delivered with enthusiasm for dancing and enjoyment.

 THE BAND MEMBERS

MARTIN (Buzz) on lead vocals, whose only regular band has been The Ghostriders, an amazing devotion to the band. His musical influences include Carl Perkins, Charlie Feathers and Gene Vincent.

PAUL on lead guitar, backing vocals, and occasional lead vocals bears an uncanny visual resemblance to Buddy Holly. He has previously played in Chevy 57, The Rockin' Bones, and Captain Flash and The Phasermen.

TERRY on bass guitar is an original Ghostrider, and also played in Chevy 57 during the 15 year interim period. He particularly likes rockabilly music.

STEVE on drums is the newest band member, and lays down the solid beat that drives the band along. He previously played in The Rockin' Bones, and Captain Flash and The phasermen, and states his major influence as Mr. Kipling!

 THE BAND CD

The band's first cd, 'Back To Haunt You' is proving very popular with Ghostrider fans, and currently selling very well at gigs around the country.
